Board-certified in family medicine · Navy veteran (2005–2013, OEF) · Founder and Medical Director, Flat Rate Nexus

I'm a family physician. Family medicine trains you across nearly every system in the body, which turns out to be exactly what this work needs, because veterans rarely come to us with one tidy problem. A knee affects a back, a back affects sleep, and poor sleep touches almost everything else.

I served in the Navy from 2005 to 2013. I started Flat Rate Nexus because too many veterans were paying a lot of money for letters that didn't hold up, and too few were being told plainly when their case wasn't there yet.

When I write a letter, I read the whole file. I look for what actually happened in service, what has been documented since, and what the medical research says about how the two connect. Then I write it the way the VA reads it: a clear opinion, the reasoning behind it, and an honest look at anything that points the other way.

What I won't do is write an opinion the records don't support. If the evidence isn't there, I'll tell you, and the deposit comes back to you.

As we've grown, other board-certified physicians have joined me. Every letter meets the same standard, and every physician signs under their own name.
